Chevrolet marketed the 1978 Corvette Pace Car Replica as a limited edition model. Only one car was sent to each dealer in the nation. The exterior paint matched the original pace car's black and silver colors. A red pinstripe divided the two colors. Front and rear spoilers were added to the car to further differentiate the Corvette Pace Car models from standard Corvettes. Indianapolis Pace Car decals came with the car, but were not applied at the factory, but rather at the dealership level. Some owner's opted to not have the decals installed, but kept them in their original plastic wrapping to enhance collector value in later years. A gray cloth interior was standard, with silver leather optional. The Corvette Pace Car also came with other Corvette options as standard equipment. Some of these were power windows, removable glass roof panels, polished alloy wheels and a tilting and telescoping steering wheel.
This 1978 Corvette Pace Car features the optional Silver Leather Interior, L82 350 engine and Automatic Transmission. Other options include Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Tilt and Telescopic Column, Cruise Control, Mirrored Glass Roof Panels, Rear Defrost, Original AM/FM Radio with optional CB radio, Aluminum Rally Wheels with Goodyear GT 60 series Raised White Letter Tires. Car is fully documented with original owners manuals, warranty booklet from dealer and the drivers door glass with the original Window Sticker that was removed when new. Car is showing 37,034 miles on the odometer.
